A most beautiful trophy for the winner with Tiffany & Co. and Riot Games
It’s gonna be breakfast at Tiffany’s for this year’s League of Legends World Champions. Tiffany & Co. have recently announced that they are partnering up with Riot Games to completely redesign the Summoner’s Cup for this year’s League of Legends World Championship.
The world-renowned American jewelry company teamed up with Riot Games to forge a complete reimagining of the trophy this year, which has held the same design since it was first introduced in 2012 when the Taipei Assassins scored 3-1 upset win over favorites Azubu Frost in 2012.
In a statement from Riot, they shared images of the entire assembly process and shared that it took an unprecedented 4 months to redesign and build the trophy. The finished trophy reportedly stands at 44 pounds and stands 27 inches tall and will be unveiled on Monday, September 29th. This isn’t the first time Tiffany & Co. have entered the world of e-sports, as the company previously debuted commemorative rings for the LCK 2021 Summer Finals, as well as the Silver Dragon Cup for the LPL’s 10-year anniversary in China. Will this year’s winner receive their trophy in an elegant blue box? We’ll have to tune in to the biggest esports event of the year and find out!
